If you have something to achieve, whether it’s work, or that trip you have been looking forward to, only thinking and dreaming about it will not get you the best results.
First, you need to identify your goal. Define your target, such as reducing $0.5 from your current cost, or a 10-day trip to Spain.
Then, write that goal down. Somehow your mind and body do not activate at its best towards a goal, if you don’t see it written down. Once you have written it down, your mind will start to organize how to move towards it.
Create a deadline. If you have a target but no deadline, it’s just a hobby. Having a deadline creates a sense of urgency for you to move.
Then, here’s where you have to sit down and think about what you need to do in order to accomplish the best results. Say, if you want to have that best Spain trip, you’ll want to visit Toledo and have churros at one of those open-air cafes. Because of that, you’ll need to find out which bus to take, or which places serve the best churros.
Once you get that done, create an action plan. Set up the date to book your tickets, to prepare your trip itinerary and so on. The same goes to work, set a Gantt chart to when you need to discuss the plans with your team, and when to do this and that.
The most important part goes to get MOVING! Setting up a great plan does not give results, you need to take action. Do something every day to move towards your goal and be consistent.
Once you get into a habit of doing this, you’ll see better productivity in your work and life.
